Movie Review: The Spy Next Door (2010)

I really like Jackie Chan movies, that was the only reason for me to watch the  Spy Next Door  even if it was looking like one of the boring Disney movie (it is not a Disney movie)

It was a little bit Disney movie starring Chinese James Bond (Chan’s), the new American movie stories is a little bit similar, I think because the important thing here are the fighting scenes, not if the story were good or bad!!

In all Chan’s American movies they got another Co-Star to make it more interesting, but why they hell they brought George Lopez, he is bad actor, not funny and can’t do any action scene, I think that was the worst choice for casting Mr.Lopez.

The story start becomes more boring when they try to make a story of his neighbors  specially the mom (supposed to be dating her for 3 months), and after that she leaves her kids with him (and they really hate him as hell, I don’t know why, maybe because he is Chinese)

And the scenes of baby-sitting is kinda not that funny, and more than annoying, and of course Chan’s can fix everything using his Spying gadgets on kids, they just wanted to make it entertaining in a desperate way.

Well one of the “wanna do action scenes”, is when the little kid was missing in the mall, and Jackie jumps over from the first floor to the ground, and still no one knows that he is spy.

Having the villains in cheap Russian accent was a little bit entertaining, I like the line “I look like the French Prince of Belarus”, still it looked like a low-budget movie.

Finally, the movie looked like (low-budget Disney movie), yet still Chan got the moves to impress the viewer, overall I don’t recommend the movie for action lovers, it’s a pure family movie with Jackie’s style.

I would give it 6 out of 10
