Movie Review: Iron Man 2 (2010)

5 May

I was going to Iron Man 2 and hoping that it would be better than the first one (which I enjoyed watching it), also watching it in IMAX 2D made the sound quality to its extreme, and at the end I was so satisfied and full of joy, they fixed everything failed in the first one.

The movie starts with a realistic response from the government after revealing the identity of  Iron Man, and I really liked  this part where they show hilarious jokes of  Robert Downey Jr. and that made me thinking that the movie is more into comedy than action.

Mickey Rourke was the best choice  for villain, I loved his russian accent (when he said I want my borrd), yet still his motive to revenge is not clear to me even after his history shown in the movie.

I hated the trailer a lot because they have shown almost every important scene in the movie, so I thought watching the movie will be ruined from 1 minute trailer, and I was happy that I was wrong, there were so many amazing scenes.

The scene in France was unpredictable, when Iron Man almost lost the battle, but I have to admit that Gwyneth Paltrow made that scene more interesting for me, I though her role had no purpose like the first movie.

The new characters were performed by famous stars like Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson, that reminded me a little bit of  The Spirit.

The first film shows how Tony was inventing his heart battery in a cave in the middle of the desert in Afghanistan, and the sequel shows how he creates new chemical element that his computer said to him it is impossible to exists!!

Overall the movie was more than what I expected, and if you liked the first one you will definitely will enjoy this mixture of comedy and action, I don’t want to spoil it more you have to check it out.

I would give it 8 out of 10

I totally agree the movie was a triumphant in both story-wise and direction! However I question the casting. When I saw Mickey Rourke I didn’t buy hes background story!! No one raised in poverty and shame of hes betrayed father would have so many botox in hes face!! He can barely talk with those collagen filled lips lol I still give the movie a 9 !!

i also wished they gave more screne time to Scarlett 😉
